Royal blue - one of THE colors of the current RUNDHOLZ DIP collection!

But why is this particular blue a “royal blue”?
Would you have known...?

In the 18th century, Queen Charlotte organized a dressmaking competition with the aim of designing a dress worthy of her as queen.
The winner of this competition designed the perfect dress:

Apart from the cut, the special thing about this historic dress was the color, because it was brand new:

A blue that was lighter than indigo and richer than sky blue. She named the special shade after Queen Charlotte - “ROYALBLUE”.
The dressmaker not only won the competition, she also received the exclusive right to sell the shade under the color name “ROYALBLUE”.

The historic royal blue was somewhat darker than it has since been defined.

In many Eastern cultures, royal blue symbolizes spirituality.
In Hinduism, royal blue is associated with Krishna, a deity who stands for love and divine joy.

Over the years, royal blue has been used as a color in amulets in numerous countries to ward off evil - for example in Afghanistan, Greece, Iran and Turkey.
Throughout the Middle East, royal blue is also a symbol of safety and protection.

ROYAL is a powerful yet elegant color that stands for self-confidence and sophistication in fashion.
It is classy without being austere and absolutely versatile.

ROYAL shines beautifully, especially in sunlight, and can be combined both elegantly and sportily.
No wonder Carsten Rundholz chose this great color for his current summer collection.

But how can ROYAL be combined?

Fresh and sporty in summer: the combination of ROYAL with white or off-white creates a fresh summer outfit.
Combined with sporty sneakers, the look is perfect.
