Unique craftsmanship from Annette Pfister's wood-fired kiln
Annette is a ceramic artist—and you can see that in her pieces: clear in form, sensual in surface. In her workshop in the Markgräflerland region, she works with stoneware, porcelain, and red earthenware, relies on a few carefully coordinated glazes and engobes, and lets the wood-fired kiln leave its own mark.
Fire, smoke, and ash create a vibrant patina—each piece becomes unique. The result is everyday vessels such as mugs and bowls as well as free-form objects: functional, honest, with a palpable warmth.
Below, we show you the first part of our behind-the-scenes look at the finished pieces.
In the video, we give you an insight into the first part of the creative process: from raw clay to the finished, one-of-a-kind piece.
