VELVET

Velvet is a fascinating fabric with a long history, which probably originated in the 3rd century AD and came from China through the Silk Road to the Arab region and Europe.

In the Middle Ages, it was considered a luxury fabric almost exclusively intended for nobility and clergy.

The special thing about velvet is its structure. It is not a simple woven fabric, but one with multiple layers.

The third yarn layer is the decisive one in velvet. This third layer has small cut loops, creating the velvety pile responsible for the characteristic feel and appearance.

"Did you know that velvet

should never be ironed? "

Ironing would flatten the pile and the fabric would lose its appearance. We recommend hanging the garment in the bathroom while showering: the steam will restore the fibers and the velvet fabric will retain its unique appearance.

Light and color play a big role in fashion.

Velvet reflects light very differently - depending on how it is stroked and from which direction it is illuminated.

That is why colors on velvet always appear particularly deep and vibrant. Carsten Rundholz uses cotton velvet in his current RUNDHOLZ BLACK LABEL collection.

The soft feel, elegant look, and floral details are perfect for the cooler season. With us, you can get this noble series in bright red (rose) and timeless black (black).

See for yourself how VELVET is worn this season!
